with Dawn Jordan
If you would like some help with English and Maths why don't you give DAWN a call on 07923 249 303
Her one to one or small group sessions are suitable for anyone who has not got a GCSE A-C qualification in either English or Maths and would like to improve their confidence and gain a certificate.
If numbers are your nightmare these relaxed and enjoyable sessions will look at understanding percentages, the metric system, doing fractions and any other maths problems you would like to grapple with! The sessions will be tailored to your needs to help you to develop your skills.
If words are worrying you these sessions will look at both written and spoken English and tackle common problems such as putting commas and apostrophes in the right place and c oping with spelling.
Only when you feel ready will you be encouraged to take a National Test at level 1 or 2, (level 2 is considered to be at the same level as the GCSE) which can be taken at any time to suit you, either online or paper based. You may be able to progress onto a GCSE class if you want to develop your skills further.
In the past 2 years Dawn Jordan has helped over 200 people in North Northumberland to conquer their fears and most have passed a National Test within a few weeks. Dawn is based at the Lindisfarne Adult Learning Centre in Alnwick towards the end of the week but will link up with the Community Departments at Amble and Rothbury giving everyone in and around Alnwick the chance to build confidence with using words and numbers. All ages and needs are catered for, from school leavers who may wish to improve grades to others who are interested in improving their current English and Maths skills.
Take the first step and call her on 07923 249 303.
If you know someone who might like help, advice and guidance on how to improve their number and/or writing, reading and listening skills or want to improve their English or Maths skills tell them to get in touch with Dawn. (It could lead on to a National Test Certificate.)
It is possible to sit a National Test at an appropriate level after a few hours preparation and practice. Just right for anyone who may have left school without formal qualifications or those who want to demonstrate their level of skill in these 'essential' subjects. You are tested on skills that adults need in everyday life like spelling, punctuation, percentages and simple statistics.
For more information telephone DAWN on 07923 249 303.
