Adult Learning in Alnwick

Northumberland Adult Learning Service seeks to provide accessible, high quality adult education. We aim to give you the best possible chance of success with your learning and are committed to putting the learner first. In Alnwick we provide a wide range of educational opportunities and recreational activities for people of all ages and abilities through the Duchess's Community High School (DCHS) Community Education Department.

Almost all the classes are based at Lindisfarne Adult Education Centre (the Centre) in the grounds of Lindisfarne Middle School, where day and evening classes are held Monday-Friday. Why not drop in to talk to Lyn Lock for advice and guidance; she is available most Monday and Friday afternoons. The Centre is fully accessible to anyone with physical disabilities and also has a pleasant coffee bar area and snack machine.

Most certificated courses will run during normal school term time. 10 week courses will run 10 weeks per term. See the Calendar on page * for other important dates.

If a course is under-subscribed it may be necessary to cancel or combine it with another class. To avoid disappointment PLEASE enrol early and make sure we have a telephone number so we can reach you if a class has to be cancelled or changed.
